Footballers.ng is operated by Local Footballers Ltd (RC 9593902). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website, WhatsApp bot, and Organizer Dashboard.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Identity Data: Names, WhatsApp phone numbers, and profile names of organizers, team captains, players, and referees.
• Match Data: Goals, assists, cards, and match results submitted by referees and captains.
• Payment Data: When you pay for a tournament, our payment processor (Paystack) collects your payment details. We do not store your full credit card or bank details on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate the tournament management system, including generating fixtures and standings.
• Send transactional WhatsApp messages (e.g., match reminders, live score links, captain invites) via the WhatsApp Business API provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.
• Process payments for tournament organizing packages.
• Display public tournament data (standings, top scorers, player profiles) on our website.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We share your data only with the essential service providers required to run Footballers.ng:

• Meta (WhatsApp): To send and receive messages.
• Paystack: To process payments securely.
• Supabase & Railway: For secure database hosting and backend infrastructure.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Public Information

Please note that tournament standings, fixtures, and player statistics (including player names and team names) are public and visible on the Footballers.ng website. Phone numbers and BSUIDs are never displayed publicly.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To request the deletion of your data (including your WhatsApp number and player profile), please contact us at competition@footballers.ng or message our support line at +234 815 273 4727.

6. Data Retention

We retain match data and tournament history indefinitely to preserve the integrity of historical records. Personal contact data is retained as long as you use the service or as required to provide you with updates.
