Footballers.ng ("we", "us") runs grassroots football tournaments through a WhatsApp bot and a public website. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.

What we collect

• Phone numbers — from team captains, match officials, and players who interact with our WhatsApp bot, so we can send match reminders, collect results, and resolve disputes.
• Names — team names, captain names, and player names for squad lists, standings, and top-scorer charts.
• Payment information — handled directly by Paystack, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details; Paystack passes us only a payment reference and confirmation status.
• Match data — scores, goals, cards, and results entered by match officials during games.

What we never make public

Phone numbers, Meta business-portfolio identifiers (BSUIDs), and any other direct contact information are never shown on the public website or in any public API. Public pages show only team names, player names, scores, and standings.

Why we collect it

• To run tournaments: registration, scheduling, live score entry, results, and dispute resolution.
• To send match reminders and updates via WhatsApp.
• To process tournament entry fees and platform fees via Paystack.
• To show public standings, fixtures, and results on footballers.ng.

Who we share it with

We share payment data with Paystack solely to process payments. We share WhatsApp messaging data with Meta solely as required to operate the WhatsApp Business Platform. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep tournament records (results, standings, squad lists) so historical tournaments remain viewable on the site. You can ask us to remove your phone number and personal contact details from our systems at any time by contacting us below — this does not remove your name from public historical match results, since those are the factual record of games that were played.

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your contact information. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond as quickly as we can.
